Essential Depot's Sodium Hydroxide, also known as Caustic Soda, NaOH, or Lye, is a superior alternative to Red Devil Lye. Unlike many competitors who sell technical-grade lye, Essential Depot's product is Food Grade, meaning it has lower impurities, and is proudly manufactured in the USA.

This Sodium Hydroxide is FOOD GRADE, USP, non-GMO, and does not contribute to BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy). It has not been animal tested since 1990. The chlorine used in its manufacture does not come into contact with any animal products or byproducts, nor does it contain chemical additives that are organic in nature. Therefore, it is considered Kosher by the Orthodox Union and Halal acceptable, as it does not contain alcohol or any other prohibited substances.
